As one of the world’s largest entertainment corporations, the Disney Channel produces a number of projects and events within a year. And, they don’t just stop there. They’re coming up with more and more of activities, which at the end of the day, helps aspiring actors and actresses break into the entertainment business, at a very young age.

Though it seems impossible to become a part of this successful organization, there are actually tons of opportunities open for everyone, regardless of age. In fact, Disney is constantly in search of new talents to play roles in their upcoming shows. But, what does it take to become part of Disney?

Well, there’s no definite answer to the question as casting directors are always looking for something fresh and new. However, we can always take a look at the humble beginnings of some successful Disney stars to see what character traits they possess that earned them a spot on the channel:

Bubbly – Demi Lovato

Demi Lovato is a popular actress, singer, and songwriter, who debuted as a child actress on Disney Channel’s hit television series, Barney & Friends. She later on starred in the 2008 film for television, Camp Rock, which then landed her a recording contract with Hollywood Records.

In 2009, she finally had a television series of her own, Sonny with a Chance. But, before it all happened, she worked hard and auditioned for the role.

During her audition, Demi was a true standout. Although she was just being herself, apparently, her upbeat reading and positivity landed her the title role.

Fun and Crazy – The Jonas Brothers

Also called JB, The Jonas Brothers was an American pop rock group that was formed in 2005. The group consists of three brothers from Wyckoff, New Jersey, namely, Paul Kevin Jonas II, Joseph Jonas, and Nicholas Jonas. They started making a name for themselves by appearing on some of Disney Channel’s shows.

Along with Demi Lovato, they started in the 2008 Disney Channel Original Movie, Camp Rock, as well as its sequel, Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam. Also, they starred in another Disney Channel series, JONAS, which was later renewed for another season as Jonas L.A.

Clever – Selena Gomez

Born in Grand Prairie, Texas, Selena Gomez made her first appearance on television on the children’s series, Barney & Friends. When she was cast in the Disney Channel TV show, Wizards of Waverly Place, her career skyrocketed to the top.

In 2008, she formed her band Selena Gomez & the Scene. She also entered the film industry, playing roles in feature films like Ramona and Beezus, Monte Carlo, and Hotel Transylvania.

She already has an established name in the industry, but like most other stars, she too went through the daunting process of auditioning. However, unlike others, she was just simply adorable and clever. The way she talked about her life, family, and friends, made her the darling to casting directors.

Dedicated – Debby Ryan

American singer and actress Debby Ryan first made it big on television in 2011, when she was cast as Bailey on Disney Channel’s The Suite Life on Deck.

Although Debby already began acting in professional theaters, at the age of 7, she was only discovered through Disney’s nationwide search. Her first starring role was on the 2010 television film 16 Wishes, which became the most watched cable program on its premiere day on Disney Channel.

As a dedicated young star, Debby knew that right from the time she got the sides, she wanted to have the role. She persevered during the audition process, and obviously, her efforts paid off.

As Disney continues to come up with more interesting shows, it is expected that more and more auditions will also be held in different regions in search for talents to fill for a variety of roles. And, as long as you strive and work hard in your career, Disney Channel will surely take notice and help you up, the way they did with the stars on this list.
