Are you a huge Disney fan? Well, almost everyone is. In fact, you’d be hard put to find anyone who isn’t, and anyone who says he isn’t is either lying or in denial. The year 2019 is still far from over, but here you are already looking forward to what Disney has in store for everyone this coming 2020. We’ve compiled a list of the most anticipated Disney films for the year 2020.
Highly Anticipated Disney Films of 2020
Underwater
This disaster film starring TJ Miller and Kirsten Stewart will be Disney’s first release in 2020, with a release date of January 10. The movie is about a team of underwater researchers who are forced to seek safety after their underwater laboratory is destroyed by a devastating earthquake.

The King’s Man
If you’re a fan of the Kingsman film franchise, then The King’s Man starring Ralph Fiennes is surely one of the films you’re anticipating, especially since it will take fans back to the origins of the secret Kingsman organization—as in how and why it started. The prequel, set in the early 1900s, will be out on February 14, Valentine’s Day. Think of it as the perfect date movie for you and your partner—a sophisticated spy-themed action movie.

Onward
This is an animated film starring the voices of a powerhouse cast of Hollywood actors, namely Chris Pratt, Octavia Spencer, Tom Holland, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus, among others. It’s about two teenage elf brothers who are on a passionate quest for magic in the world. We’ll be able to find out more about their story when the film gets released on March 6 next year.

Mulan
Coming straight on the heels of the successful live-action adaptations of the classic stories of Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast, and The Lion King, the Mulan live-action film has been years in the making, and it’s been gaining a lot of buzz ever since the news of it leaked into the press. It was originally scheduled for 2018, but production has been dealing with a couple of hiccups, and it is now set for release on March 27, 2020.

The New Mutants
Another film that has seen a lot of delays and costly reshoots is the new X-Men film, The New Mutants. One reason for the production delay is that Director Josh Boone wanted to inject a fresh tone into the film by adding elements of horror to the age-old tale of the super mutants. It now has a final release date of April 3.

Death on the Nile
After the successful Kenneth Branagh-helmed Murder on the Orient Express, another one of Agatha Christie’s well-loved novels is getting its own live-action treatment. Death on the Nile features a powerhouse cast consisting of Gal Gadot, Armie Hammer, and Letitia Wright, among others. Kenneth Branagh returns again as the director, and this film will be widely released to audiences on October 9.

The Eternals
Finally, this list won’t be complete without mentioning the most anticipated film in years to come, Marvel’s The Eternals, which brings together a prestigious cast of Hollywood’s iconic figures like Angelina Jolie, Salma Hayek, Richard Madden, and more. It has a release date of November 6 and is expected to be a film that will bring the Marvel Cinematic Universe into a new direction.
